About Alex Masi:
Alex Masi was born in Venice, Italy where he premeditated at the Conservatory of Music in Verona. He formed the original Italian heavy stone band Dark Lord in 1983 and recorded two EPs with them. Alex Masi moved concisely to London in the beforehand eighties where he played with some musicians association to the so called NWOBHM that was comprehensive the country at the period.
With Dark Lord he toured as break act representing a few larger acts of the interval until 1986 when he was invited close Metal Blade Records to move to Los Angeles and combine Sound Barrier, a hopeful up and coming ribbon.
Things didn't labour exterior with Sound Barrier and Alex was place in heaviness of his own sash that at that dot appropriated the designation MASI.
MASI recorded two albums championing Metal Blade/Capitol Records after which Alex definite to pen alone material. The first alone album was "Attack Of The Neon Shark", which received a Grammy nomination for Best Instrumental Rock Album. After that Alex Masi played and started extremely many projects that at no interval came to filled conception with people such as Rhett Forrester (Riot), Steve Bailey (Jethro Tull), FRankie Banali etc. "Tales From The North" and "The Watcher" were two albums that were released in the nineties but flew beneath the radar and it appears that Alex prefers to discharge those two releases as "unfortunate efforts".
In 1998 Alex Masi published the important album of a rich trilogy dedicated to three of the most famous criterion musicians in account; the album is called "In The Name Of Bach". It was followed beside "In The Name Of Mozart" and "In The Name Of Beethoven". A greatly acclaimed solo album called "Late Nights At Desert Rimrock" was released in 2006, this album features Alex Masi on guitar and bass and John Macaluso on drums More recently Alex Masi has resumed his collaboration with extensive spell companion John Macaluso and Randy Coven (Steve Vai, Leslie West, Malmsteen) below the label MCM (Masi, Coven, Macaluso). The threesome has released "Ritual Factory", their chief studio album and more recently MCM, "1900 Hard Times", a living album.
Alex Masihas appeared as caller musician on a handful recordings from Snoop Dogg to Jeff Pilson (Dokken) to Joseph Williams (Toto) etc
Alex Masi appears to be obsessed rotate truly interested in Indian music and electronica in the late years judging from some of the interviews he has stated.
